This position is responsible for software specific support of our sales, installation, project management, and service teams to include the integration/interface of multiple disparate software applications into fully functioning solutions. This position will be responsible for all levels of systems design, programming, head-end commissioning, end user training, upgrades, and advanced diagnostics to achieve the defined functionality of systems operation.

The Security Applications Engineer should be capable of utilizing existing SDK's and/or API's to ensure the desired level of integration and should be capable to perform customized integration between software applications. Schedule will be coordinated by the Operations and Project Managers to be effectively and efficiently utilized. Successful candidate will need to establish and manage healthy customer relationships, have professional and effective communication skills, proactive in conflict resolution and be safety minded. Responsibilities

• Perform systems diagnostic and troubleshooting duties to ensure a fully functioning system.
• Work with sales, operations, project managers, technicians, and end users to provide assistance regarding software systems.
• Troubleshoot project issues and engage appropriate resources as needed.
• Work with Project Management team to coordinate project and work schedules to ensure project efficiencies.
• Work with Operations Manager to schedule and maintain appropriate licensing and software trainings for professional development.
• Take the lead in End User Software Training.
• Performing on site emergency troubleshooting, programming, and repairs of security and access control systems.
• Analyze blue prints, schematics and drawings of security systems and other related electrical systems.
• Diagnose problems or failures in assigned systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair.
• Commission systems, including loading software programs and implementing modifications.
• Document commissioning details; communicate deficiencies and progress.
• Create detailed test and inspection reports based on code requirements and customer needs.
• Capable of advanced integration between disparate electronic security systems.
• LAN & Network configurations experience to include wireless communications system.
• Comprehensive working knowledge of security system codes and standards.
• Identify code and non-conformance issues.
• Report on activities completed, deferred, or requiring further action or material.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be detail-oriented, organized, and have strong time management skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external customers.
• Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities.
• Self-motivated with the ability to motivate and influence others.
• Working knowledge of network infrastructure including switches, routers, IP configuration, CCNA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Knowledge of network components, workstation and server operating system management, IP addressing, IP video network transmission, subnetting, basic switch, router, and firewall principles.
• Must be able to differentiate types and colors of electrical wire.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, teams, SharePoint, and Visio) and Bluebeam Revu.

Certifications

• PSP, CCNA; or product specific certification in Access Control, IP Video, and IP Communication platforms.
• Major enterprise level security/access control systems preferred such as Software House CCure 9000, Lenel/S2, Genetec, Avigilon, Open Options, Rs2, Brivo, Eagle Eye, Axis, Hanwha, Milestone, Zenitel and Commend, certifications preferred.

Education and/or Experience Required

• High school diploma required; bachelor's degree in related field preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• 7 years of relevant experience with integrated electronic security solutions or 5 years of experience in a pre-sales support/engineering position.
